Molly Resnick and other women in an Oakland County group are concerned about the education
of Palestinian children.
Resnick, who grew up in Israel, said she's alarmed by a program on Palestinian television called The Children's Club in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that, in her view, extols the virtue of becoming suicide bombers.
Resnick and other members of a group she recently founded, Mothers Against Teaching Children to Kill & Hate (MATCKH), plan to present a video of the show at a forum Wednesday.
"How can you want peace if you teach your children to hate?" Resnick said.
The forum, "Who Teaches Children to Kill?", will explore The Children's Club and textbooks in the Palestinian-controlled areas of the West Bank and Gaza that Resnick says encourage children to hate and commit violence against Jews and Israelis. Palestinians have argued that these expressions of hate are a response to Israeli occupation.
The Presentation of the video will be followed by a discussion of the impact of the
program on Palestinian children by Israeli activist Ferne Hassan and Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a
clinical professor of psychiatry at Wayne State University.
